Inspired by growing up on the beautiful British Columbia coastline, I often paint pleine air near the shore line. Drawing the repetitive, yet mystifying patterns of water. The ocean is my muse, so captivating and evoking a vibrant feeling of joy, renewal, and peace.
Often I return to the ocean to paint, and it remains a consist focus in my work.

Soon, I was overwhelmed by the detail and challenge of replicating the scene before me. This has resulted in many series while traveling by train, plane, or foot. Wanting to replicate the character of a place, with the focused lens of a scene.

You'll see sights of Segovia, La Almudaina, the road to Sant Salvador Monastery, and city streets.
New York truly took my breath away as an artist. The detail and noise in the streets was unlike any I had seen before and captivated my instinct to document and record a moment in time.
I was challenged by the repetitive nature and absence of organic shapes, gravitating to what was familiar in works before.
Japan is where my love for urban sketching truly blossomed. The organic shapes and detailed craft around every corner made drawing irresistible.
From simple picturesque moments of everyday life, to beautifully crafted pastries, every lamp, creature and item seemed meticulously cared for and on stage for onlookers to enjoy.
